Internet Explorer assigns all websites to one of four security zones: Internet, Local intranet, Trusted sites, or Restricted sites. The zone to which a website is assigned specifies different security settings that may lead to different behaviors. Following domains allow you to test the browser labs in different security zones in IE. Before navigating to following domains, you need to either map these domains into the correct security zone manually or run following command to map these domains automatically.
Enable Internet Explorer 11 as a standalone browser
Prerequisites
Open Registry Editor (regedit.exe) as an administrator and navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main and HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main. If you find a key named NotifyDisableIEOption, rename it to NotifyDisableIEOption2. This will enable Internet Explorer as a standalone browser.
End steps
To disable Internet Explorer as a standalone browser, open Registry Editor (regedit.exe) as an administrator and navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main and HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main. Find the key previously renamed to NotifyDisableIEOption2, and rename it by removing the 2 at the end, so it becomes NotifyDisableIEOption again.
